Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet. You're probably here because you've decided it's high time you captured some memories; if so, you're in the right place. To me, photos are like little time capsules - they have the ability to freeze a moment in time and preserve it as a tangible memory in a way that nothing else can. They are one of the most precious things that we can ever invest in.
I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember, but it all took on a new meaning when I had my son, the love of my life. I obsessively committed to memory every detail of him and our early days together, but inevitably much of it has now faded. The thousands upon thousands of photos that I have taken to document his childhood however; well, they're a pretty good substitute. I look at them and am instantly transported back to the times he spent all day in my arms, needing nothing more than to be close to me while he clutched my finger and I stroked his perfect newborn skin. Or the time we spent chasing each other through the sprinklers in a rose garden, laughing with sheer joy. Or the day we watched the sun rise out of the sea and I thought it wasn’t possible to be any happier than I was in that moment. Those photos allow me to remember the details that I'm afraid I would otherwise forget and most importantly, allow me to remember how I felt.
And that, to me, is the beauty of photography. It captures and celebrates the magical moments that happen to us every day, preserving them for the rest of our lives - and our childrens’ lives. It is absolutely priceless.
